Hunting down information on the novels here and there was driving me crazy, so I made a list of everything I could find translated online. The list includes summaries, fan translations, and some other information. Please let me know if I've made any mistakes!

To the authors of the translations and summaries linked below: I apologize if I've stepped on any toes with this post. If you'd rather not be linked, just leave a comment to that effect, and I will remove the link(s).

EDIT 8/13/08: If you would like to know when this page is updated, you can subscribe to comments. I will comment whenever I add anything.

EDIT 7/22/09: For a guide to published/translated manga chapters, go here. Thanks silverspanda!

YES DONE. Additions welcome! Also, I'd like to include correspondences for the second season of the anime and for the manga, so if anyone knows what these are...?

EDIT: Also, if anyone knows the names (and possibly original publication dates?) of the stories included in the Gaidens, that would very useful. I tried using the official website to find them but the product descriptions there were spectacularly unhelpful.

EDIT 2: Found names and publication dates, thanks wanlily! Translations of individual story titles are either copied from a linked summary/translation or adapted (by me) from google's computer translation. Please let me know if I've made mistakes, etc.)

Memming for when I have more time to peruse at leisure! Thanks so much for this handy list, and I appreciate your effort in compiling it as well as the efforts of all who have translated the various bits and pieces.

You're welcome!

Just typing up this list took forever, I don't want to think about how long it must have taken to *do* all that summarizing and translating.

Wow. I am impressed. Thanks for sharing! This might be a great resource to put up in the Saiunkoku Archives, once it gets up. Would you be interested in contributing this? Pretty please? You will get full credit for putting these resources together we would just host them for Saiunkoku lovers. (Shamelessly begs;_;)

What are The Saiunkoku Archives? I have no objections if you want to copy this entry for an information website. It's just a list of links, after all; I had no hand in the creation the content. I'd appreciate it though if you'd put link back to this entry somewhere on the page (when it goes up), because I plan to keep the list updated with new information.

I don't have the diligence to list all this ^^;; Thank you for sharing..

A correction, tho.. the link you provide for gaiden 2 and vol.9 translation part are the same page. The part for vol.9 should be http://community.livejournal.com/saiunkoku/133618.html#cutid1 ^^

Here's where you can find the publication dates. It's in Japanese, but it's probably not too difficult to figure out even if you don't know Japanese: http://www003.upp.so-net.ne.jp/iori/saiunkoku/news.htm

Wow, thanks! That's really useful. I can figure out the volume publication dates from this, and I see that it also has the dates for short stories published The Beans, but I'm still totally sure which short stories are in which Gaiden volumes.

Yo! Wanted to add my voice to those who have already thanked you for compiling all this information and making it available to everyone. Curiosity: will you continue to add to it as time goes on? If so, it might be a good idea to email the mod of the board and ask him/her to put a special link to it up on the community profile and on the community mainpage, so that people can find it easily. Either that, or repost the link every month or so as the list is updated.

Again, many thanks!

I've been adding to the list with translations posted to the community and to the personal journals of people I stalk follow for Kokumono-related content. A note to the mod is a good idea, though I see that this post has been given a unique tag ("listing") so I assume she (he?) knows about it already.

You're welcome!
